Mark Burgman is the Adrienne Clarke Chair of Botany and Director of the Australian Centre of Excellence for Risk Analysis (ACERA) at the University of Melbourne. Mark is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and in 2006 received the Distinguished Service Award from the Society for Conservation Biology for ‘research in population viability analysis, risk management and quantitative modeling’. Mark is author or editor of 7 books including Risks and Decisions for Conservation and Environmental Management (Cambridge University Press 2005) and Practical Conservation Biology co-authored with David Lindenmayer (CSIRO Publishing 2005).
