Mark Nicholas Bernard Thomas

Mark Thomas is a Senior Lecturer in QUT's Law School, teaching Professional Ethics and Administrative Law. His research interests include socio-legal and cultural studies, with a focus on law and literature.

Mark has a long history of working in the community legal sector, having been President of Caxton Legal Centre for 16 years, serving on the Board of Prisoners' Legal Service, and one of the founders of the LGBTI Legal Service, the first dedicated LGBTI legal service in Australia.

He also holds a current practising certificate as a Barrister in Queensland, undertaking mostly pro bono work in criminal law, and appeared as junior counsel in the recent successful High Court appeal in Coughlan v The Queen.
