Senior Lecturer in Media Studies, University of Cape Town

Martha Evans lectures at the University of Cape Town, where she completed her Phd in media studies. She convenes the production programme for undergraduates and teaches narrative literary journalism at postgraduate level. Her research specialty is South African media history, with a particular focus on the apartheid era. She is the author of "Broadcasting the End of Apartheid: Live Television and the Birth of a New South Africa" and "Speeches that Shaped South Africa: From Malan to Malema".
