Associate Professor in Higher Education, The University of Melbourne

Martin Davies has doctorates in Philosophy from the University of Adelaide (2002) and Flinders University (1994). He received the H. J. Allen Prize in Philosophy from the University of Adelaide in 2002. From 2009 to 2011 he was Associate Professor and Director of the Williams Centre for Learning Advancement in the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Melbourne and an Honorary Fellow in Economics. An author of 90+ scholarly papers and seven books, his latest include an edited collection with Emeritus Professor Ron Barnett (London) entitled Critical Thinking in Higher Education (Palgrave, February 2015), and the second edition of the popular Study Skills for International Postgraduates (Bloomsbury, 2022).
