Matthew Klugman is a Research Fellow, member of the Community, Identity and Displacement Research Network, and Co-convenor of the Olympic Research Network at the Institute for Health & Sport, at Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. His research interests include those who love and hate sport, and the intersections of sport, passions, bodies, gender, sexuality, religion, migration and race.

Matthew's research has been funded by an Australian Research Council DECRA Fellowship. His books include Black and Proud: The Story of an Iconic AFL Photo (with Dr Gary Osmond, University of Queensland), NewSouth, 2013; and Passion Play: Love, Hope and Heartbreak at the Footy, Hunter Publishers, 2009.
