Research Associate in Innovation Management, University of Kent

Dr Matthew Mount is a Research Associate in Innovation Management as part of the Marketing Group at Kent Business School. He is a member of the Regional Studies Association (MeRSA). He is fully qualified with a BSc (Hons) in International Business, MRes in Management, and PhD in Operations Management/Management Science.

Before joining the business school, Matthew worked at the University of York as a Research Associate in the Operations Management Group working on a project to examine the supply chain, economic, and social (community cohesion and well-being) effects of pubs in rural England and Ireland.

Matthew has a broad research interest within the innovation and innovation management domain; this includes aspects of open innovation, disruptive innovation, and business model innovation. At the moment, Matthew is heavily engaged in exploring the role of end-users and user communities in internal innovation processes and how this transpires onto the business model.

He also maintain an active interest in rural, urban, and regional development studies from an operational and innovation systems perspective.

Matthew engages in both quantitative and qualitative research and has experience with several statistical packages including SPSS, AMOS, and MATLAB.
