Professor of Economics, Behaviour and Design, Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods

I am an academic economist, specializing in behavioral economics. Working as director of a Max Planck Institute, my research group investigates, among others, the roots of human cooperation, how economic decision making develops in childhood and adolescence, how behavioral interventions can save lifes in a pandemic or can contribute to a healthier life-style. I wrote a popular book on the importance of patience for success in life.
