Professor of Strategic Management, Coventry University

Maureen Meadows is Professor of Strategic Management at the Centre for Business in Society (CBiS) at Coventry University. Maureen is co-leader of a research cluster on ‘Data, Organisations and Society’, which explores the use of data, such as personal customer data, from the perspective of individuals, organisations, and society. Research themes include the relationship between ‘big data’ and organisational strategy; the impact of data sharing on privacy and trust, e.g. in the context of wearable technologies; and recent developments in cybersecurity.
Formerly with the Open University Business School and Warwick Business School, Maureen’s research interests include the use of strategy tools such as scenario planning and visioning by senior managers, and the post-merger integration phase following M&A deals. Current work on strategy tools focuses upon video data of strategy workshops to explore the use of tools such as scenario planning and SWOT analysis by managers – as boundary objects, and as drivers of micro-practices that offer insights into the role of the middle manager.
