Mauricio Avendano Pabon

Professor of Public Policy & Global Health, King's College London

Mauricio Avendano is a Professor of Public Policy and Global Health and Director of the Institute of Gerontology at the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine. He is also Adjunct Associate Professor at Harvard University.

Before joining King’s College, Mauricio was Associate Professorial Research Fellow and Deputy Director of LSE Health at the London School of Economics and Political Science (2011-2015).

He has been David Bell Fellow at Harvard University (2008-2010), and Assistant Professor at the Erasmus University Medical Center in the Netherlands (2006-2010). He is also network associate of the McArthur Foundation Research Network on an Ageing Society.

His research is partly funded by the European Commission HORIZON 2020 research and innovation action (MINDMAP project, grant 667661).
