Senior Lecturer in Economics, RMIT University Vietnam

Michael Palmer is an applied microeconomist from Melbourne, Australia. His research spans areas of development economics, health economics, and political economy. He is particularly interested in the relationship between health (disability) and poverty, and the long-term impact of conflict on human populations. Most of his research work has been in the context of Vietnam and Cambodia. He is currently a Senior Lecturer and Department Coordinator of the Department of Economics and Finance at RMIT University Vietnam (Hanoi), and is an honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne. He obtained his PhD from the Australian National University in 2011.
