I am a Lecturer in Digital Film and Television at the University of Bristol, where I teach TV and Film Studies, Video Game Studies, Creative Technologies.

My research reflects my ongoing interest in technology and obsession with its impact on existing media and our experience of it.

I am the author of Northern Exposure A Cultural History (published by Rowman & Littlefield 2021) and co-editor of Streaming and Screen Cultures in the Asia-Pacific (published by Palgrave Macmillan 2022) and True Detective (published by Lexington Books 2017). I am currently finishing a monograph on television and heritage and an anthology on television and empathy
