Mike Stasko holds a BA in Communication Studies from The University of Windsor, a Post-Graduate diploma in Advance Television & Film from Sheridan College, and an MFA in Film Production from Columbia University. His 1st feature film “Things To Do” (2006), premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival and was distributed by Mongrel Media. His 2nd film “Iodine” (2009), starring Ray Wise (Twin Peaks), opened at the Montreal World Film Festival and was distributed by Anchor Bay. His 3rd film “The Birder” (2014), premiered at the Calgary International Film Festival, starred Tom Cavanagh (Ed), Fred Willard (Wall-E) and Graham Greene (Dances With Wolves), and sold to Sony Pictures US. His 4th film “The Control” (2018), won him Best Director honours at the Nice International Film Festival, and is distributed by Freestyle. His 5th film “Boys vs. Girls” (2019) stars Colin Mochrie (Whose Line Is It Anyway?) and Kevin McDonald (Kids In The Hall), won him Best Writer at the Florida Comedy Film Festival and was acquired by Mongrel Media and Gravitas for distribution. Mike teaches film production at The University of Windsor, and in the past has also taught film at The University of Ottawa, Ryerson University, Algonquin College and The University of Western. He has also written and produced over 40 episodes of television for YTV and CBC.
