Mikael Siversson

Head of Department, Earth & Planetary Sciences, Western Australian Museum

In 2007, after working as an exploration geologist in Pilbara and Kimberley, I took up the position of Curator of Palaeontology at Earth & Planetary Sciences (EPS), WA Museum. In 2018 I became Head of Department of EPS. I have authored and co-authored 36 scientific publications on Cretaceous and Cenozoic sharks and rays, Cretaceous dinosaurs, turtles, pterosaurs, mosasaurs, plesiosaurs and mammals. My main area of expertise is Cretaceous and Cenozoic sharks. The work on sharks and rays includes the description of one new family, 10 new genera and 31 new species.
