Prof Mike Rowe joined Northumbria University in 2009 as Reader in Criminology. He was previously director of the Institute of Criminology at Victoria University Wellington and senior lecturer in criminology at the University of Leicester.
His teaching and research interests have focused on issues relating to policing in broad terms but particular attention to policing, race and racism, police culture, and the policing of domestic violence. He has published widely on these and other topics.
