Mirae J. Fornander

Clinical Psychology PhD Student, University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Mirae J. Fornander, M.A., earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hastings College in 2015. She is currently a fifth-year Clinical Psychology Ph.D. student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she earned her master's degree in 2018. Her research primarily aims to identify risk factors for anxiety disorders in children and adolescents to inform evidence-based treatment and assessment methods. She is particularly interested in problematic school absenteeism and selective mutism. Clinically, Mirae primarily works with children and adolescents in medical settings. She is particularly interested in the treatment of anxiety disorders, selective mutism, behavior difficulties, and parent training. Mirae also enjoys teaching introductory and upper-level psychology courses at UNLV.
