Muhammed Jamil

Muhammad is a medical doctor and a public health graduate. He worked as a clinician in a developing country before moving to Australia. His previous roles include working on a large, multicentre randomised trial evaluating new approaches to supporting smoking cessation in general practice (QUIT in General Practice). In his current position at the Kirby Institute, he coordinates a trial of HIV self-testing among gay and bisexual men (FORTH). His research interests include evaluation of point of care testing for STIs and HIV, and he provides support to a range of projects in this area. He is also completing his PhD with a focus on interventions to increase HIV testing uptake and frequency among gay and bisexual men.
