Lecturer in Statistics, University of Newcastle

Natasha Weaver is a lecturer in Medical Statistics in the School of Medicine and Public Health, University of Newcastle. She graduated with a Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours) in 2005 and PhD (Mathematics) in 2009. Dr Weaver began working in data analyst/statistician roles in 2012 with two years consulting experience at the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI). Since 2017 Dr Weaver has been an Education Focused Academic at UoN, teaching introductory biostatistics to large cohorts of postgraduate students, and was an instrumental part of designing curriculum for the new online Master of Medical Statistics program. She also consults and performs statistical analyses for Teachers and Teaching Research Centre projects including ‘Aspirations’, a four-year longitudinal study of the educational and career aspirations of primary and secondary school students. She has co-authored 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and currently supervises two PhD students.
