Nello Cristianini

Nello Cristianini is a Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bath,
and the author of "The Shortcut - Why Intelligent Machines Do Not Think Like Us".
also the author of "Machina Sapiens", currently only available in Italian edition.

His research interests include machine learning, artificial intelligence, computational social science, data science, and the philosophical foundations and implications of AI. Before the appointment to Bath he has been a professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bristol, an associate professor of statistics at the University of California, Davis. He has a PhD from the University of Bristol, a MSc from Royal Holloway, University of London, and a Degree in Physics from University of Trieste.

He is co-author of the books 'An Introduction to Support Vector Machines' and 'Kernel Methods for Pattern Analysis' with John Shawe-Taylor, and "Introduction to Computational Genomics" with Matt Hahn (all published by Cambridge University Press).
