Nicholas Tyrrell

PhD candidate, Monash Weather and Climate, Monash University

Nicholas Tyrrell is investigating how the oceans effect continental temperatures. Focusing on year-to-year variability he is looking at the atmospheric mechanisms that allow anomalous ocean surface temperatures, caused by phenomenon such as El Nino, to become amplified over land surfaces. This is achieved through the analysis of observational data sets, and experiments with complex global climate models and simplified atmospheric models.
