Nicholas Williams

Associate Professor in Urban Ecology and Urban Horticulture, The University of Melbourne

Nick has over 20 years of urban ecology and urban green infrastructure research experience and is recognised as an international expert in these fields. He has broad research interests and has worked with plant physiologists, engineers, horticulturalists and environmental psychologists to develop one of the world’s leading green roof research programs that has significantly contributed to the development of the Australian green roof industry. Nick co-leads the Green Infrastructure Research Group (GIRG) at The University of Melbourne. He has published more than 80 scientific papers many in high impact journals and presents his research regularly at national and international conferences. He is also actively involved in community and professional management of urban bushland reserves.
