Nick Dreher

Nick (he/him) is a PhD student in Policy Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University and a graduate student researcher at TMU's CERC in Migration and Integration. Originally from the United States, his background and academic perspective are informed by his work experience in non-profit and higher education settings in a variety of roles—teacher, program coordinator, and advocate for community organizations supporting migrants and refugees in South Africa, Uganda and several cities in the United States. Nick’s research interests focus on agency, social inclusion and belonging of precarious migrants in urban settings, critical perspectives on migration management technology, and the role of arts and culture programs in building intercultural communities.
