Nicola Guess

Dr Nicola Guess is a dietitian and the research programme manager for type 2 diabetes remission at the University of Oxford. She was previously an assistant professor at King’s College London, and Head of Nutrition at the Dasman Diabetes Institute in Kuwait.

She is a graduate of the Diabetes UK Innovator in Diabetes (iDia) Program, a Fulbright Scholar, and a member of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) expert committee. She was previously a Winston Churchill Travel Scholar, a NICE scholar, a Diabetes UK Academic Health Partnership Fellow, and a member of the NICE guidelines committee for type 2 diabetes prevention in the UK.

Her research interests are on the effect of diet on the prevention and management of type 2 diabetes.

She completed her clinical dietetic training at the University of Houston, and holds a Masters in Public Health from Florida International University and a PhD from Imperial College London.
