Cancer Institute NSW Career Development Fellow, University of Newcastle

Dr Bowden graduated from the University of Newcastle with a B. Biomedical Science (Honours) and PhD in Medical Genetics. Dr Bowden is currently a Cancer Institute NSW Career Development Fellow and DNA Repair Group Leader at the Hunter Medical Research Institute/University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia. She was previously a NHMRC Early Career Fellow and was a visiting Fellow at the National Cancer Institute, NIH in Washington DC, USA.
Dr Bowden leads a team of researchers investigating the repair of DNA damage caused by sunlight and chemotherapy in melanoma. She leads a large collaboration of researchers and clinicians that are repurposing traditional chemotherapy for cancer treatment.
