Dr Nina Hobbhahn obtained her M.Sc. from the University of Rostock, Germany and a PhD in plant reproductive ecology from the University of Calgary, Canada. She has conducted research in Israel, India, Canada, and Madagascar, and spent five years in South Africa as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, conducting research on plant reproduction and teaching at the Universities of KwaZulu-Natal and Cape Town. Since 2017, she works as a Science Policy Officer in the Secretariat of the European Academies’ Science Advisory Council (EASAC) and coordinates and contributes to science-advisory projects for European policy makers.
