I am a psychiatrist with research interests in LGBT mental health. My research has investigated adverse mental health outcomes such as depression, self-harm and suicidality in sexual minority youth, how these are mediated by bully victimisation and low self-esteem and relationships with childhood gender non-conformity. I was awarded a Chevening scholarship to pursue a Masters in Genes, Environment and Development. During this program, I became interested in the genetically sensitive twin design. I am using this method to investigate the genetic relationships between sexual minority status, childhood gender nonconformity and mental health
