Olga Oleinikova is a Senior Lecturer and Director of the SITADHub (Social Impact Technologies and Democracy Research Hub) in the School of Communication at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. In 2016 she founded the Ukraine Democracy Initiative (UDI), a unique research platform that examines the Ukrainian and East European political, social and migration history, and its turbulent politics. She is named among Forbes Top 40 Global Ukrainians, Forbes 30 Under 30 in Asia and is a finalist for the Australia's Council of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences Future Leader Award. She has held Research Fellowships at Oxford University’s European Studies Centre (2019) and the WZB Berlin Social Science Research Centre (2015). She is the author of" Achiever or Survivor? Life Strategies of Migrants from Crisis Regimes" (Palgrave, 2020) and editor of "Democracy, Diaspora, Territory: Europe and Cross-Border Politics" (Routledge, 2019). She is regularly called by TV and Radio to offer expert opinion on the events unfolding in Ukraine and Europe, writing analytical pieces for The Conversation, ABC News, SBS Australia, Politico, KyivPost, TheGlobalist.
