Lecturer in Popular Music, Edinburgh Napier University

Paul Harkins is a lecturer in music at Edinburgh Napier University and a PhD student in the music department at the University of Edinburgh. His doctoral research relates to music technologies and the use of the digital sampler as a musical instrument; other research interests include copyright, mash-ups, and the music industries. Academic publications include articles in Popular Music, Reseaux, and IASPM Journal and he has contributed to Product magazine and The Scotsman newspaper.
