Paul Harper

Paul is Professor of Operational Research, Director of the Data Innovation Research Institute, and Deputy Head of the School of Mathematics, Cardiff University. His research interests are primarily in mathematical/OR modelling and stochastic methods applied to healthcare systems, and Paul has been an investigator on in excess of £12M of funding from various research councils and direct from health services. Paul is a founding editor of the journal Health Systems (Taylor & Francis), a member of the UK REF2021 mathematical sciences panel and a recent recipient of the UK Times Higher Education prize for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Innovation and Technology'.
