Professor of Defence Studies, Canadian Forces College

I have a background in naval strategy and have worked closely with the RCN throughout my career. I have spent half of my professional life as the Director of Academics at Canadian Forces College where I was instrumental in introducing the Masters of Defence Studies, and shaping in general the practice of Professional Military Education at that institution. I have won awards for my work in Network Centric Warfare from the US Navy, and have published an Adelphi Paper on it with the IISS in London UK. I spent two years working with the Rajaratnam School of International Studies in Singapore, helping develop their academic contributions to the Singapore Armed Forces Command and Staff College, as well as teaching courses on the Revolution in Military Affairs, and on Globalization and Security. In recent years, I have helped develop the practice of "Design Thinking" for creative problem solving in complex scenarios with CFC. I am presently researching a book on the Victoria Class Submarines.
