Chercheur scientifique avec Pêches et Océans Canada et Professeur-associé, Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR)

Peter Galbraith is a research scientist in physical oceanography with interests in the climate of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, in mixing rates and turbulence, and how these interact with and affect biology. He is chair of the Atlantic Zone Monitoring Program, responsible for delivering its scientific program. With the input of colleagues, he produces an annual report on the state of the ocean for the physical oceanography of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and leads the production of the zonal environmental overview published as scientific advice. He contributes to DFO's monitoring program by running a helicopter-based winter survey of the temperature and salinity conditions in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
