Doctor Peter Kamstra is a post-doctoral research fellow in the School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Melbourne, Australia. His community engagement research uses mixed methods and spatial analytics in partnership with multiple social purpose organisations to address Australia’s contemporary health problems. His work produces applied insights that can be used to improve community mental health services, bushfire emergency response, flood risk mitigation and drowning prevention strategies. His current research explores the impact participatory community engagements have on flood risk mitigation and coastal drowning risk prevention.
