I'm an Assistant Professor in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Utah. My research seeks to improve our understanding of precipitation on both weather and climate timescales – how it is forecasted, estimated, and modeled. Much of my work is focused on improving the skill of snowfall forecasts in mountainous regions. I'm also the co-developer of a technique to make natural crystalline snow for ski resorts, and we're commercializing it through a company called Quantum Snow.
