Postdoctoral Researcher, Entomology and Biological Control, Rhodes University

Phil completed his PhD at Rhodes University in 2015, working on the origins of a submerged macrophyte Myriophyllum spicatum in southern Africa. He is currently a post doc with the biological control research group, where his research is focused on post release evaluation of biological control agents on aquatic weeds in Africa. His research will help understand the dynamics around the establishment and effect of biological control agents on weed infestations, with the ultimate goal of controlling aquatic weed problems in many of Africa’s water bodies.
