I have more than 30 years experience as a researcher and lecturer in economic history, economics, business history and international business.
My published research analysed headquarter-subsidiary relations in multinational enterprise in Australia, Australia-EU trade relations, intra-Asian trade and investment in past and present, the role of markets, institutions and companies in long-term economic development of Indonesia.
I was editor of the "Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies" (2012-2015) and the "Australian Economic History Review" (2000-2006).
My contributions to public discussion have been published in "Australian Outlook", "Australian Policy Online", "East Asia Forum", "The Jakarta Post", "The Financial Times", "The Straits Times" and other media.
