Dr. Sanagavarapu's research interests and expertise are in the areas of metacognition, diversity in parenting, cultural globalisation, transition to school and higher education, mental health and wellbeing and blended and flipped learning.
She has completed a few inter-disciplinary studies intersecting education with health and wellbeing. These include "Starting school with food allergy: Parents’ and children’s perspectives" in collaboration with Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia (A&AA), Campbelltown Hospital and Children’s Hospital, Randwick, funded by A&AA; "Parents' perceptions of food allergy management in NSW primary schools", funded by School of Education.
