Lecturer in English Literature, 1350-1660, University of Sussex

Rachel's research is about the literature and culture of the early modern and late medieval periods. She particularly studies and writes about Tudor authors and printing. Her monograph, The Typographic Imaginary in Early Modern English Literature, came out with Routledge in 2018. She gained her PhD at the University of Bristol, returning to academia after working for several years in the legal field. Prior to taking up her post at Sussex, she taught at the universities of Sheffield and Bristol.
