Rebecca Lawrence

Rebecca Lawrence is an Affiliate at Sydney Environment Institute, University of Sydney. Her research is concerned with local and Indigenous communities impacted by resource projects; ethical responsibilities of the corporate sector and the chain of accountability throughout global resource industries.

Rebecca works closely with companies, NGOs and communities in her research.

Rebecca provides pro-bono advice to Indigenous organisations, communities and environmental NGOs. She has also worked for government, both in Sweden and Australia, and was recently the Social Impacts Expert for the NSW Minister for Planning in the Rocky Hill Case in the NSW Land and Environment Court.

Rebecca has held academic affiliations and positions at Stockholm University, Macquarie University, Bristol University and London School of Economics. She works in the fields of sociology, political science and human geography.
