Rebekka is a qualified Optometrist. She studied Optometry at the Fachhochschule in Aalen, Germany before completing a PhD in the Department of Optometry & Vision Sciences at Aston University in Birmingham (UK) examining systemic and ocular circulatory parameters in health and cardiovascular disease 2008. Following her PhD she took up a lectureship at Aston University and in 2021 joined the University of Huddersfield. Her research examines ocular and systemic factors leading to pathological changes in the eye and impacting visual function using a range of functional tests and imaging technologies.
