Rémi Desmoulière is a Ph.D candidate in Geography at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO), Center for Social Studies on Africa, America and Asia (CESSMA) in Paris. After investigating various social and cultural aspects of Indonesian cities (forced evictions, port-city interface, toponymy), he is conducting his doctoral research on the socio-professional milieu of minibus drivers, owners and organizations in Jakarta.
