Robert Scanlon

I research the restoration of land with a focus on land disturbed by coal mining. This work requires a full understanding of the soils chemistry, physics and biology as well as the plant communities that colonize the surface. My work has focused on factors that can accelerate ecosystem restoration while not compromising on the final targets.
