I assumed the role of Provost at Clarkson University on August 15, 2019. Prior to this role I served as the Founding Dean of the School for the Environment at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

An entrepreneur and strategic thinker, my administrative leadership supports the development and implementation of responsive, nimble, and transdisciplinary academic, research, and service programs designed to foster the generation of new knowledge, the communication of that knowledge to the people who need it most, and the activation of that knowledge to make positive changes for our planet and its people. As an innovative leader, my passion for higher education and dedication to diversity in both people and discipline has transformed the institutions in which I serve. I've translated my spirit for invention into two start-up companies as well as remaining active in research with over $30M in external funding and over 100 peer-reviewed publications. My acumen for strategic public- partnerships fosters sustainable, intellectually engaging, and revenue generating programming enhancing student retention, graduation, and placement across all programs and demographics. I've spoken globally about the emerging role of academia in the entrepreneurship ecosystem and the centrality of diversity in building vibrant academic programs. My abiding appreciation of our Earth led me to the University of Rochester where I earned my PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences. I've led, and continue to serve in a variety of capacities, University and start-up boards as well as state and federal agency committees.
