Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations, University of Technology Sydney

Robyn currently holds the position of Associate Dean (Academic Staffing) and Associate Professor at UTS Business School. In this role she provides strategic leadership in all areas of academic staffing, including workforce planning, succession management, staff recruitment and retention, workload and performance management, career development and promotions, diversity and inclusion, and remuneration.

Robyn started her academic career at UTS in 2003. Since then, she has held many roles in the Business School and the University. Ahead of taking on her current role, Robyn was appointed as Senior Academic Lead on the Future-ready workforce project, a UTS 2027 Working Together strategic initiative, Robyn has led projects that look at the future of work and how UTS can adapt to it.

In her substantive position within the Management Department of the UTS Business School, Robyn has held the role of Deputy Head and has also been the Associate Head (Engagement) as well as director for the undergraduate and postgraduate Human Resource Management (HRM) programs. She has taught extensively on the Master of HRM, the MBA and Executive MBA. She has also taught the undergraduate HR major in Shanghai and contributed to the Indigenous Bachelor of Business Administration.

Before transitioning into academia, Robyn worked in corporate Human Resource Management and has also worked in the public health sector. She completed her PhD in Business at UTS in 2013. In her PhD study, she examined occupational stress, burnout and reduced psychological well-being among Australian dentists. Currently, Robyn is part of a research team examining contemporary and emergent issues in the management of human resources, with particular emphasis on flexible work practices and the four-day work week.
