Laureate Emeritus Professor, The University of Melbourne

Rod Tucker is a Laureate Emeritus Professor at the University of Melbourne, in the University of Melbourne’s Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Rod’s research focuses on telecommunications including wired and wireless networking, with a particular focus on energy efficiency.

Rod is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, a Fellow of the Optical Society of America, and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).

In 1997 he was awarded the Australia Prize for his contributions to telecommunications.
