Professor of Dermatology, University of Melbourne

Prof Rod Sinclair is a leading Australian Dermatologist. He is Director of Dermatology at the Epworth Hospital and Head of the Sinclair Centre for Dermatology Investigational Research, Education and Clinical Trials (DIRECT).

DIRECT conducts clinical research in skin cancer, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, pemphigus, alopecia, and laser therapy. DIRECT undertakes laboratory based stem cell research, genetic research (gene discovery), immunology and fundamental skin biology research and supervises PhD students enrolled with the University of Melbourne

Prof Sinclair is a Founding Member and Past President of the Australasian Society for Dermatology Research, a Fellow of the American Dermatology Association, the British Association of Dermatology and the International Society of Dermatologists.

He is formally Director of Dermatology at St Vincent's Hospital, Chairman of the Scientific Research Committee of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and a Past President of the Skin and Cancer Foundation.

With over 500 research publication including 7 textbooks, Prof Sinclair is Australia's most highly cited clinical and research dermatologist.
