Roy Gerona is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. He currently runs the Clinical Toxicology and Environmental Biomonitoring Lab and the HIV and TB Hair Analysis Lab at UCSF. His research focus is on the development of mass spectrometric techniques and their application to environmental biomonitoring, clinical toxicology, and therapeutic drug monitoring in HIV/AIDS patients. His laboratory is actively involved in surveillance studies on designer drugs and the analysis of cases resulting from designer drug intoxication.
