Associate Professor of Urology, University of Virginia

Dr. Ryan P. Smith is an Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Virginia specializing in Male Infertility and Men's Health. He attended medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and also completed his urology residency at the University of Virginia. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Smith joined the faculty at the University of Virginia in 2013 where he serves as the Co-Director of the Andrology Fellowship, the Associate Residency Program Director and the Medical Student Clerkship Director. His research focus similarly is within male infertility and he was previously selected by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine as a CREST Scholar. His collaborative research with Dr. Jeff Lysiak on the impacts of phosphatidylserine on sperm fusion was awarded the Early Career Investigators Showcase at the 2020 annual meeting of the American Urological Association.
