Sabine von Mering

Director, Center for German and European Studies, Brandeis University

I teach courses in German Studies at Brandeis University that are cross-listed with Environmental Studies, International and Global Studies, Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and Creative Arts for Social Transformation. Next to my work on German language and culture, my main research interests are global climate activism as well as antisemitism on social media, and right-wing extremism in Europe. I am a climate activist with 350Mass and NoCoalNoGas. I co-edited Antisemitism on Social Media with Monika Hübscher (Routledge, 2022), Right-Wing Radicalism Today: Perspectives from Europe and the US with Timothy McCarthy (Routledge, 2013). My translation of "German Greta" Luisa Neubauer and Alexander Repenning's book Beginning to End the Climate Crisis. A History of our Future is coming out with Brandeis University Press in 2023, and I am currently working on a Handbook of Global Climate Activism (also forthcoming in 2023).
