Samantha Ellen Andres

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment, Western Sydney University

I am work as an applied ecologist investigating the dynamics and drivers of change across ecological communities.

My research explores the life histories, environmental requirements, and processes threatening species and ecological communities, with the aim to create more effective conservation and management strategies. I also apply ecological principles to enhance restoration efforts with a particular focus on leveraging species traits to promote biodiversity.

As a dedicated conservation ecologist, I advocate for integrating proper value systems, community perspectives, and rigorous data into ecosystem markets. With a focus on sustainability, I work to ensure that ecological conservation and restoration efforts are guided by sound science and holistic principles, fostering a harmonious relationship between nature and society.
