Senior Lecturer in Information Systems, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology

Dr. Liyala has more than 15 years’ experience in Information Systems. Considerable amount of this time has been devoted to teaching and research with the objective of generating demand and use of evidence to inform decisions that contribute towards the improvement of lives through social digital innovations.
Currently, Dr. Liyala is a senior lecturer and the head of Information Systems department within the School of Informatics and Innovative Systems in Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology in Western Kenya where he is involved in teaching, administration and supporting Masters and PhD students’ research projects.
As part of his research collaboration efforts, Dr. Liyala also serves as a fellow within Cambridge Digital Innovation at Judge Business School, Cambridge University. He is well versed with primary research studies, secondary review studies as well as theoretical or conceptual studies and quickly adopts relevant knowledge and skills to any type of research design.
