Associate professor, The University of Melbourne

Sandra is an academic in the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Melbourne. She is a geologist with broad interests and research experience in understanding the evolution of the continental crust.

Sandra is a graduate of the University of Adelaide, (PhD, 2001) and has previously held a research fellowship at the ANU in Canberra. She currently teaches across all three levels of the undergraduate geology degree and has with a particular focus on tectonics, geodynamics and structural and metamorphic geology.

Sandra’s research interests are largely focused on the long-term geological evolution of the Australian continent and she has current research projects on rocks that range in age from the Proterozoic to the Neogene.
